About Bakery Chef Lina
My name is Shalina (Lina) Baker, Founder and Cake Artist of Sweet Treats By Lina LLC. I am a wife, mother, mentor, and businesswoman who is blessed with the unwavering support of my family and friends. They have stood beside me in every season and have faithfully served as my taste testers whenever God inspires a new creation.
My love for baking began in childhood as I watched my mother—an accomplished Master Cake Decorator—craft beautiful cakes from scratch for more than 30 years. Her creativity, excellence, and “labor of love” reflected the spirit of Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord.” Her example planted the foundation for the work I do today.
After relocating to the South, my creativity began to flourish. A defining moment came when I baked my son’s birthday cake using an original recipe. The overwhelming response from family, friends, and guests encouraged me to share my gift more widely. Through prayer, seeking God’s direction, and the encouragement of my husband to step out on faith, I sold my first cake. It was a liberating moment that reminded me of Proverbs 18:16: “A man’s gift makes room for him.”
Determined to grow, I enrolled in professional classes, gathered treasured family recipes, and learned from experienced colleagues in the baking community. I spent countless hours in my kitchen—testing, refining, and documenting recipes—embodying the diligence of the Proverbs 31 woman who “works with willing hands” (Proverbs 31:13).
This journey birthed Sweet Treats By Lina LLC, a business built on faith, creativity, and excellence. Today, I continue to study, innovate, and perfect my craft, always striving to honor God through the work of my hands.
